Visitors travel 30 miles of park road to Teklanika. This tour stops at Mile 12, Mountain Vista Trailhead, where you’ll join a guide for a ¾ mile walk. You’ll learn about the sub-arctic ecosystem and the ways in which Athabascans, following the wisdom of their ancestors, continue to live off the land despite its unforgiving environment. and your Driver/Naturalist are Certified Interpretive Guides and the science educator’s partner with National Park Service through the Murie Science and Learning Center. The Windows Into Wilderness Tour includes a boxed snack and water. Two trips daily: 6:30am & 8am. Book early and must be prepaid. *Note: There will be standing and walking for up to 90 minutes on gravel-packed trail.
