Focusing on the rich natural and cultural history of the park, this 4 ½ to 5 hour tour travels to Primrose Ridge at mile 17 (FYI-you can drive the first 15 miles of the park road in your own vehicle). Several interpretive stops enhance the experience, beginning with a stop at the Wilderness Access Center for a viewing of the film “Across Time and Tundra”, which depicts early visitor experiences within the same area visited by Denali Natural History Tour visitors! A stop at the still-used ranger cabin, Savage Cabin provides a living history glimpse of the folks who might have used the cabin at one time. At the Primrose turnaround point, you will experience a memorable Alaskan Native presentation that will enlighten you with how the land has been used for nearly 10,000 years!
A snack and beverages are provided. Wheelchair accessible buses are available, and all stops are wheelchair accessible. Morning and afternoon tours are available. Tour Times and Pickup Locations are assigned approximately one week prior to actual tour date. Your actual pickup location may vary, please reconfirm at your Hotel Front Desk upon arrival.
This tour is pricey for how far into the park you go, but is an option for those that are very limited on time, or don’t want to spend a lot of time on a bus.
FYI-Vendors highly suggest travel insurance, which you can purchase at www.tripinsurance.com
ALL park tours should be booked early due to our short visitor season and limited availability and must be prepaid.
