The Creekside Philosophy – “Work Hard, Play Hard, Have Fun”.
The Creekside is owned and operated by two best friends. We started in 1997 with only the sweat of our brow and a dream. As one of the last private employers in the area, we strive to be the best.  This means paying a good wage, providing some of the best housing in the area, and most of all creating an environment that is encouraging, respectful, and caring.  We acknowledge that a happy crew makes happy customers, therefore making happy owners. 

Our expectations are simple: everybody works. Crew members must be professional, have a GREAT attitude, and be good ambassadors of the “Creekside”.  A sense of place grows from the earnest work of maintaining this enterprise, the friendships that grow, and our commitment to provide the best experience for our guests in a setting that is beyond compare. Season Dates:  Mid-May thru Mid September

Housing/Food: We have very nice housing; all rooms are set up as two rooms that share a bathroom (toilet/shower).  Each room has one or 2 beds a sink and small fridge.  There are two common rooms, each with kitchen facilities and one is a TV/movie room and
coin-op laundry. We provide linens/towels, WI-FI, laundry detergent, toilet paper & cleaning supplies. A $100.00 deposit will be deducted from your first paycheck-to be refunded at the end of the season, upon check out of nice clean room and closing cleaning duties.  All housing tenants will have a chore once a week to keep the housing clean and comfortable for all.  You will receive one shift meal, and 20% off when you are not working, during non peak hours.  You are responsible for your own food, but may purchase food through the small general store at the café/front desk.

Shared Housing 70.00/wk             (includes 5 shift meals-crew menu)
Private Housing 110.00/wk             (when available, includes 5 shift meals-crew menu)


Uniform requirements: All crew members will need to purchase $50 in uniform supplies (amount may be deducted from your first paycheck), and bring appropriate footwear for working in kitchens & clean khaki’s or jeans or chef pants. Servers will also need to bring or purchase a black apron and wear black bottoms, close toed appropriate shoes.

Bonus Information
Season end bonuses apply to all positions except servers.  It ranges from $.25 – $1.00 per hour worked, and is determined on: completing the season, your job performance, attitude and being a responsible housing tenant.

Transportation to Denali
You are responsible for your own transportation and cost. Denali is 4 hours north of Anchorage and 3 hours south of Fairbanks. If you are arriving in your own vehicle we are located at Mile 224 on the George Parks Hwy. If you do not have your own transportation you can take the Alaska Yukon Trails Shuttle (800-770-7275 or www.alaskashuttle.com ) from either Anchorage or Fairbanks at 20% off (they will need a copy of your work contract) which picks up at the Anchorage Hostels http://alaskahostel.org / 907-248-5036

Guest Relations/Front Desk        
Be the CENTER OF ATTENTION! Ensure the “Creekside” is a place “Where Guests Become Friends!”. This starts with how our guests are greeted; addressing any concerns/questions they may have sincerely and attentively listening more than talking/ responding and a strong background in sales. You are responsible for all aspects of front desk hotel work; guest reservations, including selling tours and activities, answering phones, providing area information, check-in/check-out of guests, collecting room balance, guest issues, cashiering, gift shop sales and inventory management, working closing with housekeeping, bathroom checks, as well as hostessing and assisting in the café.    Pay $10-11/ hr DOE + season end bonus.

Housekeeping Manager -FILLED
This is where it all begins-yes with YOU! The housekeeping manager is essential to ensuring our outstanding housekeeping standards. You need to posses the ability to direct and motivate while working alongside the housekeeping crew (you are a housekeeper too!), have an EYE for detail and the ability to meet deadlines. It will be your responsibility to ensure the Housekeeping guidelines are being adhered to or exceeded. Physical stamina, positive attitude and the ability to work cooperatively are necessary. Our managers lead by example. You will be the first one on and the last to leave. You will also work with the front desk on a daily basis-cabin walk-thru to ensure guest satisfaction. Experience Required.  Pay: $2000.00-2200.00/mo..

Housekeeping
Every Night OFF!! You need to enjoy cleaning and want to provide exceptionally clean rooms for our guests. Responsible for cleaning and servicing guest rooms, laundry, and central bath. Maintain and stock supplies. Make note and bring cabin maintenance issues daily to manager. You must become familiar with hotel and area, able to answer general questions providing excellent customer care including greeting and smiling at guests-whether on or off the clock. Physical stamina, positive attitude and the ability to work cooperatively are necessary. Pay: $9-10 (DOE) + TIPS and season end bonus.
JOBS AT THE “CREEKSIDE CAFÉ”
Our restaurant mission at the café is simple…”The finest food, the fresh ingredients, affordable pricing, served with unparallel service”. The Creekside Café is the heart of our operation. We have built a great reputation through excellent service and exceptional food. We are looking for people who care about how each and every plate goes out to the customer. From the dishwasher to the cook to the server, everyone is truly essential to the flow of the operation and working together not only makes all our jobs easier, but a lot of fun.

  • All servers contribute 2% of their sales to be equally shared by the kitchen. We recognize it takes a collective effort on all fronts to make this operation successful.

Attention: ALL Cooks-Experience Required.  If you have a passion for cooking, WE WANT YOU! We want it made with love (there is a difference). If you enjoy the process of creating excellent food and enjoy the smiles and satisfaction of  happy guests, then join our team! All cooks must be skilled in all aspects of the line including but not limited to sauté, fry, grill, steaks, seafood, pasta and so on.

  • Responsible for timely and successful presentation of all menu items.
  • Portion and quality control (this can make or break the best of operations).
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced environment, be well organized and have excellent cleaning/sanitation standards.
  • Most importantly have a good and positive attitude.

FT Dinner Line Cook
You are more than a cook, you are a creator! Responsible for timely and successful presentation of all lunch and dinner menu items, including nightly pasta specials.  Responsible for ensuring the nightly kitchen flow by overseeing the dishwasher and prep cook, by assisting and leading. Pay: $12.00-$13.00/hr (DOE) + TIPS + Season end bonus.

FT Breakfast Line Cook
You MUST enjoy being an early riser! Responsible for all breakfast and lunch items and Sunday brunch special. Able to work on a face paced breakfast line, also responsible for ensuring the morning kitchen flow by overseeing the dishwasher and prep cook by assisting and leading. Pay: $12-$13 (DOE) + TIPS + Season end bonus.

FT Swing Shift Line Cook
The best of both worlds-enjoy it all. Responsible for all items on the menu. Must be able to prepare entire menu and all duties as assigned to both breakfast and dinner cook as listed above.  Pay: $12.00-$13.00/hr (DOE) + TIPS + Season end bonus.
FT Prep-Cook/Line Assistant
The right-hand man (or woman)!! Assists cook at busy breakfast and dinner rushes in making salads, soups, desserts, preparing and garnishing plates, and what ever needed. Responsible for all prep items in stocking of the kitchen, including as prepping dips, sauces, daily soups and all menu items. Must be well organized, have excellent cleaning/sanitation standards and able to follow and read recipes. 
Pay: $9 - $10/hr (DOE) + tips + Season end bonus. 

FT Dishwasher
You are the BACKBONE of the kitchen, keeping everything running smooth, clean and neat, with the sanitation and organization of the kitchen. Main duties include, bussing tables, cleaning and putting away all dishes, trash runs, receiving & stocking kitchen orders and assists in prep and baking. Physical stamina, positive attitude and the ability to work cooperatively are necessary. Pay: $9/hr (DOE) + TIPS + season end bonus.
FT AM Dishwasher/Baker
Responsible for filling our bakery case with sweet treats and desserts.  Must have some experience baking, excellent time management, multi tasking, organizational and cleaning skills-able to read and follow recipes. Also responsible for dishwashing in the morning. Pay: $10-11.00/hr (DOE) + TIPS + Season end bonus

Servers-Experience required
The server’s #1 priority is the guest. If you love people, enjoy the fast paced environment, can function when all seems to be going wrong, can smile at the happy folks and enjoy serving the grumps too, are good at multi tasking and enjoy the reward of delighted guests and the excellent wage you will earn, then this job is for you. You must be 21 years old and willing to get a TAM card (cost $50). You must be knowledgeable on all menu items including beer and wine selection. You will need to be able to tell how items are prepared and able to merchandise items to guests, suggestive sell appetizers, beer, wine and desserts. 30-40 hrs. The Café is open from 6a-10pm daily. All servers work all shifts on a rotating schedule. Pay: $7.75/hr + tips (2% off sales goes to kitchen).
